Ruffled (REVISED) Shawl/Cape

Ruffled (REVISED) Shawl/Cape is a simple crochet work, but with a delicate and very elegant result that everyone loves. It can be used as a shawl giving a special charm to your look and leaving you with an amazing look. In winter this item is versatile and widely used and that’s why it’s good to have several types and colors like a wild card when composing your look on a daily basis. Take advantage of the art of crochet to make other pieces that accompany this shawl, such as a beautiful hat to leave perfectly warm on the coldest days and complete your look.

The advantage of this beautiful piece is that its cost is low and so it can be an excellent option for sales or even as a gift. The shawl or collar completes the look and can be used with the most varied types of combinations, which helps a lot. Whether with an ordinary blouse, or a cacharrel, or with whatever combination you want, it just gives an elegant touch to your look.

Be it a beautiful party dress, for example, in the appropriate color this piece gives a touch of elegance and glamor to the look, leaving you with an even more stylish look. Pieces like this are very popular during periods of colder days. In soft tones it has a delicate and unique result in pieces.

GAUGE:

9 dc + 5 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) with Lion Brand Wool-Ease Chunky Yarn, Weight #5, 140g/153yds per
skein. Shawl as shown in pictures required 14 skeins of Wool-Ease Chunky #5 or equivalent weight.
Crochet Hook Size: K (10-1/2 inches US / 6-1/2 MM) is what I use to get this gauge. Check your
gauge!

MAKE 37 ROWS FOR 33 INCH LENGTH FROM NECKLINE. I’m showing the rows with the number of
increases for each row since that helps me keep track. I use the ‘flag’ beside the row I’m working on.
Ch 26 (Make 2) Note: When adding the 2 dc at end of rows, I add the extra dc
in the next to the last stitch and then end the row with a double crochet. This reduction
the hole that is often visible when you end a row with an increase.

Row 1 Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across; turn = 24 ad
Row 2 Ch 3, dc in each dc across; turn (Tie a piece of yarn through a stitch to mark as Right Side)
Row 3 Ch 3, dc in next 4 dc, 2 dc in next dc, (dc in next 5 dc, 2 dc in next dc) 3 times; turn – 28 dc
Row 4 Ch 3, dc in next 5 dc, 2 dc in next dc, (dc in next 6 dc, 2 dc in next dc) 3 times; turn – 32 dc
Row 5 Ch 3, dc in next 6 dc, 2 dc in next dc, (dc in next 7 dc, 2 dc in next dc) 3 times; turn – 36 dc
Row 6 Ch 3, dc in next 7 dc, 2 dc in next dc, (dc in next 8 dc, 2 dc in next dc) 3 times; turn – 40 dc
