Instructions
Prepare Your Campfire Apple Crisp:
1. Preheat your grill to 350 degrees (if temperature control is available) or ensure that the packets are closely monitored during cooking. If using a fire pit, make sure you have 2-3 inches of hot coals and a grate.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine thinly sliced apples, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and apple pie spice. Mix well and set aside.
3. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, stir together flour, brown sugar, quick oats, apple pie spice, and melted butter. Set aside.
4. Tear six 10×18 sections of heavy-duty aluminum foil.
5. Place 1 cup of the apple filling in the center of each foil section.
6. Spoon ½ cup of the topping over the apple filling.
7. Fold the long sides of the foil packets together, then fold the ends toward the middle to seal them.
8. If using a grill, position the packets around the edges of the grill. If using a campfire, place the packets on the grate over the fire pit. Cook for approximately 20 minutes.
9. Remove the packets from the heat and let them rest for 5-10 minutes. Exercise caution when opening the foil packets.
10. Serve the Campfire Apple Crisp with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sundae topping.
Enjoy the delightful combination of flavors and textures in this mouthwatering dessert.
