Ingredients:
For the burger patties:
2 lbs ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
Salt and pepper to taste
8 slices cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
For the bacon:
8 slices crispy bacon
For the toppings:
1 large tomato, sliced
1 small onion, sliced into rings
4 pickles, sliced
Lettuce leaves
4 hamburger buns (toasted)
Condiments (optional):
Ketchup
Mustard
Mayonnaise
BBQ sauce (optional)
Instructions:
Cook the bacon:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
Prepare the burger patties:
Preheat your grill or skillet to medium-high heat.
Shape the ground beef into 8 equal-sized patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Grill or cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
During the last minute of cooking, add 2 slices of cheddar cheese to each patty and let it melt.
Toast the buns:
Lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
Assemble the double cheeseburgers:
Start with the bottom toasted bun.
Layer with lettuce, a cheese-covered patty, tomato slices, onion rings, pickles, and 2 slices of crispy bacon.
Add the second cheese-covered patty on top, then more bacon, and any additional condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo, or BBQ sauce).
Top with the final bun.
Serve:
Serve the bacon double cheeseburger immediately, with extra condiments on the side.
Notes:
Add a fried egg for an even richer flavor.
You can customize with sautéed mushrooms or crispy onions for extra texture and taste.
