Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 2 cups diced potatoes (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup carrots, diced
- 1 cup celery, diced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp mustard (yellow or Dijon)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk or heavy cream
- Optional: chopped green onions or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Brown the Meat: In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Combine Ingredients: In the slow cooker, add the browned beef, onion, garlic, beef broth, potatoes, carrots, celery, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until vegetables are tender.
- Add Cheese and Cream: About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the cheddar cheese and milk or cream. Allow to heat through until the cheese melts.
- Serve: Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Garnish with green onions or parsley if desired.
