If you love bold flavors and easy cleanup, this one-pot steak pasta delivers on both. Juicy beef, smoky spices, honey barbecue sauce, and melty cheddar come together in a rich, hearty dish that’s ready in under 30 minutes — no separate pot required.
Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups pasta (elbow macaroni or your favorite shape)
- 1½ cups beef broth
- ½ cup honey BBQ sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Sear the Steak
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add the sliced steak and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, until browned on all sides.
Remove the steak and set aside.
Step 2: Season the Base
In the same skillet, add:
- Smoked paprika
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Salt and pepper
Stir well to release the flavors into the oil.
Step 3: Build the Sauce
Add the uncooked pasta, beef broth, and honey BBQ sauce to the skillet.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
Cover and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the pasta is tender and the sauce has thickened.
Step 4: Finish the Dish
Return the steak to the pan and stir in the cheddar cheese.
Cook over low heat, stirring, until the cheese is fully melted and the pasta is coated.
Step 5: Serve
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Cooking Tips
- For extra flavor, marinate your steak in BBQ sauce for 30 minutes before cooking.
