Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the oil, vanilla extract, vinegar, and milk.
- Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix. If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Frost (Optional): Once cooled, you can frost it with your favorite chocolate frosting or enjoy it plain with a dusting of powdered sugar.
- Serve: Slice and enjoy your moist eggless chocolate cake!
