INGREDIENTS:
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Red pepper flakes (optional, for some heat)
Lemon wedges, for serving
Cooked pasta, rice, or crusty bread (for serving with the shrimp)
DIRECTIONS:
In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat.
Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with a pinch of salt, and cook for about 1-2 minutes per side or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.
In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and minced garlic. Sauté the garlic for about 1-2 minutes or until it becomes fragrant.
Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth and bring it to a gentle simmer. Let it cook for about 2 minutes, allowing the liquid to reduce slightly.
Stir in the lemon juice, chopped parsley, and red pepper flakes if you want some heat. Mix well.
Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and heat them through for a minute or two.
Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and black pepper.
Serve your garlic butter shrimp over cooked pasta, rice, or with some crusty bread. Drizzle the delicious garlic butter sauce over the shrimp, and garnish with lemon wedges.
Enjoy your homemade garlic butter shrimp!
