Deep-Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Wonton Bites

INGREDIENTS:

8 oz cream cheese, softened
¼ cup powdered sugar
½ tsp vanilla extract
½ cup fresh strawberries, diced
20-24 wonton wrappers
Vegetable oil, for frying
¼ cup granulated sugar
½ tsp cinnamon

DIRECTIONS:

Make the filling:
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Gently fold in the diced strawberries until evenly combined.

Assemble the wontons:
Place a wonton wrapper flat on a clean surface. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the cheesecake mixture into the center of the wrapper.
Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water. Fold and press to seal, forming a triangle or pouch shape. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Fry the wontons:
Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or skillet to 350°F (175°C).
Carefully drop a few wontons at a time into the hot oil, frying for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
Remove the fried wontons with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Cinnamon sugar coating:
In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon together.
While the wontons are still warm, toss them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until evenly coated.

Serve:
Serve warm with strawberry jam or whipped cream for dipping.
