Ingredients:
For the Meatloaf:
1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground pork (or turkey, if preferred)
1 cup breadcrumbs (or crushed crackers)
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon mustard (yellow or Dijon)
For the Glaze:
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon mustard
Instructions:
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Mix the Meatloaf Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, minced garlic, eggs, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Mix until well combined, but avoid overmixing.
Shape the Meatloaf: Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf, or shape it by hand on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Prepare the Glaze: In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard until well combined. Spread half of the glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). During the last 15 minutes of baking, spread the remaining glaze over the meatloaf.
Rest and Serve: Once done, let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite sides, like mashed potatoes and green beans.
