WOULD YOU EAT THIS CLASSIC JUMBO SHRIMP IN BUTTER GARLIC SAUCE
Ingredients:
1 lb jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 tbsp unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup white wine or chicken broth
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for a little heat)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions:
Prepare the Shrimp: Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper on both sides.
Cook the Shrimp: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 2 tbsp of butter over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tbsp of butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in the white wine (or chicken broth), lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using). Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing it to reduce slightly.
Return the Shrimp: Add the cooked shrimp back to the skillet, tossing them in the garlic butter sauce. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the shrimp are heated through and well coated with the sauce.
Serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges for an extra burst of flavor. This dish pairs perfectly with pasta, rice, or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
