For the dough
3 tbsp natural yoghurt
80 g sugar
1 egg
200 g butter
170 ml milk
a little salt
1 cube of fresh yeast
1 packet of baking powder
650 g flour
For the topping
130 g butter
4 apples
1 packet of vanilla sugar
For decoration
Sugar as desired
15 g cinnamon
Instructions
It’s so quick and easy, first prepare a yeast dough for the apple rolls. To do this, take about a teaspoon of the sugar and dissolve it in lukewarm milk together with the yeast.
Now mix the butter with the sugar and the salt, add the egg and stir in the yoghurt.
Then mix the flour with the baking powder and knead in alternating with the yeast and milk.
Knead the dough again with your hands until it is smooth and supple and then leave it to rest in a bowl, covered, in a warm place for about 50 minutes.
Now wash, peel, core and cut the apples into small cubes.
Now roll out the dough with a rolling pin on a floured work surface. Preheat the oven to approx. 200 °C top/bottom.
Now melt the butter and spread it on the dough. The remaining butter will be used for decoration later.
Then spread the apple cubes on the dough and sprinkle evenly with the vanilla sugar.
Now roll the dough up tightly lengthways and then cut into slices approx. 3 cm thick. They taste simply heavenly!
Place the slices with a little space between them on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake for approx. 15 to 20 minutes.
The apple rolls should now cool down completely afterwards.
